How to Make Money on Fansly: Subscriptions, PPV and FYP

To make money on Fansly, give fans something they can buy: a subscription, a locked post or message, or an agreed item paid for by tip. To help people discover it, you can publish eligible free previews on Fansly's For You Page, or FYP. Following you is free; it isn't the same as paying for your content.

Start with one simple setup and finish a real post before adding more tiers. Below, we'll use an illustrative solo creator's photo set to show the subscription, preview and access settings together. Use your own content and prices; the example is not an earnings claim.

Set up your first subscription tier

After creator approval, open Creator Dashboard → Plans/Promos → Create Subscription Tier. Enter the tier name and benefits, then use Plans/Pricing to set its base price. Create the tier once the description and price are correct. Fansly documents these steps in its audience and subscription guide.

You can have free followers and paid subscribers on the same profile. One paid tier is enough to begin if you don't have genuinely different benefits to offer.

For example:

Write benefits people can understand without decoding tier names. “VIP” doesn't tell a visitor whether the video in your preview is included.

Make a Fansly post with a free preview

Suppose the Studio creator has a finished photo set that members can access, and also wants non-subscribers to be able to buy that set on its own.

Add the finished set to the post. Use the actual files the buyer will receive.
Choose a free preview. Pick an image you're comfortable making public that accurately represents this set.
Describe the purchase. State the number or format of the files, the theme, and whether the named tier includes them.
Set the access permissions. Follow the next section before posting.

An original description for this example could be: “Tonight's studio set: 12 photos in the black outfit from this preview. Included in Studio, or unlock this set separately.” Replace the details with the actual release. Don't describe a photo purchase as a full video or leave subscribers guessing whether they must pay again.

Let subscribers unlock it without paying twice

This is an easy setting to get wrong. For our example, the intended access is:

Studio subscription OR a one-time purchase.

That means members get the included set and a non-member can buy it separately. Studio subscription AND a purchase would require both and charge your members again.

Fansly's + Add New creates an alternative unlocking option. New Permission beside an existing condition adds another requirement to that option. Check the final groups of conditions, not just the presence of your tier's name. Official media permissions explanation.

Before publishing, read your settings as three people:

Person	Expected result in this example
Visitor who hasn't paid	Can see the free preview
Current Studio subscriber	Can open the included set without another payment
Non-subscriber who buys this set	Can open this set; has not purchased a Studio subscription

You can inspect an existing post through its three-dot menu → Media Permissions. If the behavior you configured doesn't match the caption, fix the settings or the description before promoting it.

How to get your post on Fansly FYP

For locked content, attach a free preview and select Post to FYP in the composer. If your timeline is restricted, check Account Settings → Internal discovery when the timeline is hidden. Fansly shows a prompt when a posting requirement is missing. Fansly's FYP setup instructions.

These steps make the post eligible for that discovery route. They don't guarantee views. Make sure the preview is worth watching or opening on its own: show the theme early, use a clear image, and describe what's available beyond it.

Can you post to FYP without filling your public timeline with previews?

Fansly documents an FYP-only option: use a private Posts wall and a different Main Wall, enable Post to FYP, then use Post to Walls to deselect public walls or select a private one. Follow the FYP-only instructions when choosing the walls. This can help keep promotional excerpts separate from the feed paying members browse.

Getting Fansly views or followers, but no sales?

First, check the setup. Can people see a free preview? Is the tier visible and understandable? Does the release have the access you intended?

Then separate the numbers. Fansly explains that a media view may include someone swiping past on FYP. It isn't evidence that the person visited your profile or considered buying. Understanding your data.

Community experiences with FYP differ. In one creator discussion, the author reports weak results after repeated tests; replies include different experiences. Use those reports to identify questions to check, not to decide that FYP works or fails for everyone.

How much does Fansly pay you, and when can you withdraw it?

Fansly says creators receive 80% from subscriptions, sold media, messages and tips. A hypothetical $100 in qualifying revenue would therefore leave $80 before your own expenses and taxes. That isn't a forecast of what a new page will make.

Funds become eligible for payout after a seven-day hold. Pending funds, available balance and money received in your bank are different stages. Bring in visitors from outside Fansly too

If you already promote on Reddit, X or Instagram, link to the correct Fansly page where the destination permits it. Keep one release's preview, upload and review in your weekly calendar, rather than starting a different content plan for every app.
